3 Basic Survival Skills to Practice in a Gated Community

Having bought a property in a gated community is never going to be your pride without knowing how to utilize it. In a surrounding where you find so many amenities and facilities, it could encourage you to do more than just dwelling in between those four walls. But, how many of you have really thought about it? Yes, by living in a gated community worth of your every single penny you spent on it can do a lot more than you can imagine. Practising survival skills is one of the many ways to utilize your gated community villas in OMR.
Have you ever thought of waking up in the middle of the night in a jungle? If this happens, how would you survive? In a person’s life, one must definitely remember to practice survival skills to save you at times like these.
So, how do you do it?
Practising the survival skills is not a matter of having emergency kits. Having skill is within you helps the most. Your skill would definitely save you one day or other. By starting from your backyard is the tender footstep you can do if you are a beginner. Here are few crafted survival skills one can practice in a gated community.
Shelter is your shield
Having sheltered in luxury flats and villas in OMR is one factor. But, having stuck in the middle of a jungle is another important factor one should at least think ones in their lifetime. So, how do you practice that? Here are some steps to follow in building one for you.
Step 1: Take a cover or bed sheet from your home. Or you can use a blanket even to practice it.
Step 2: Suppose if you have only a scarf or jacket what would you do? You can even use it for shelter.
Step 3: Go to the backyard or coconut grove or garden if you have in your community.

Step 4: Find a flat surface area in the garden. Once you have found the surface, look above it. Find two trees which are apart from each other. Or you can even use two wooden poles for support on both sides as shown in the picture.
Step 5: Find a string in the garden; you can use a strong rope instead. Tie one end of the rope to one of the trees higher and tie the other end adjacent to the tree as high as a roof.
Step 6: Once you’ve made a rigid- line using the rope, hang the blanket over on top of the rope. Make sure the blanket is hanging equally on both sides.
Step 7: Tie the four ends of the blanket using rope. Pull the rope outward and far away as it gets stretched away from the center and tie the rope to the ground.

Step 8: once you’ve got the blanket out far away from the center, secure it to the ground. You can use branches cut down like nails to anchor the ends of the rope to the ground.
Quench your thirst
In a forest, finding water to quench your thirst is quite challenging. If you can’t find water there, you just need a tarp and a can. Just run to your backyard of your independent villa or garden area.
Step 1: A simple thing you can do is digging a hole in the ground. Dig the hole deeper till you reach the soil which is damp or moisture.
Step 2: Fill the hole with green leaves. Make sure to fill it only half of the hole.
Step 3: Place the can at the center in the bottom of the hole.
Step 4: Now cover the hole with the tarp or a plastic sheet and hold it down using rocks. Just make sure there aren’t any air holes on the sheet.
Step 5: place a rock or little pebble stones on the tarp at the center of the sheet. This helps to create a low-point on the sheet to drain water directly into the can placed inside without spilling it anywhere.

Step 6: Within a day, water will condense on the sheet and droplets of water collects on the sheet due to the heat from the sun. The water drips into the can to quench your deep thirst.
Fire to electrify the energy to thrive
Though there are many ways to light a fire without using matches or lighter. The basic form of lighting fire is to use stones. But, how many of you have tried this? Try this in your backyard of your villa or house.

Step 1: Collect a pile of dry wood, small branches, dried grass etc.
Step 2: Also, gather some tiny dry wooden pieces to develop the fire after the pile ignites.
Step 3: Steer clear of any other flammable items around you and place the pile carefully.
Step 4: Find two small sized stones. Make sure it fits in your hands.
Step 5: Strike the two stones such that the friction helps to produce fire when you strike the stones continuously.
Step 6: Keep striking until the pile of tinder catches fire.
Step 7: Blow on the fire till it takes a fine hold.
Step 8: Now try to put the fire on the pile till it catches the fire, when it catches hold of it, add the first wood to warm you.
